Viagra

Viagra (sildenafil) is a prescription drug intended for the treatment of male impotence (erectile dysfunction). ED cannot be cured – but it can be successfully treated if you use Viagra as prescribed. This medicine is available in three doses – 25, 50 and 100 mg of the active ingredient. This way every patient can benefit from the suitable dose of this anti-impotence medicine. It’s very important that you stick to the dose prescribed and never exceed it or take a double dose. Taking more of Viagra than prescribed is unlikely to bring you more benefits, as the dose prescribed is most probably based on the assessment of your current health condition. If you take too much of this medicine anyway, the following symptoms may indicate an overdose and will need to be reported to your health care provider: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, lightheadedness, fainting, and nausea. The following health conditions you have or used to have may affect the dose you are prescribed and in some cases even prevent you from safely taking this medication: blood cell disorder, heart rhythm disorder, coronary artery disease, a history of a heart attack, heart disease, liver disease, bleeding disorder, retinitis pigmentosa, kidney disease, congestive heart failure, high or low blood pressure, physical deformity of the penis, a history of a stroke, heart rhythm problems, and a stomach ulcer, so make sure you let your doctor know if you have any of these diseases. Make sure your health care provider is notified of any side effects that seem serious enough to be reported, such as sweating, lightheadedness, sudden vision loss, irregular heartbeat, swelling, nausea, chest pain, general ill feeling, shortness of breath, sudden hearing loss, and prolonged penis erection (priapism), as these symptoms are unlikely to go away on their own and require medical help. Other side effects are mild and you do not need to tell your doctor about them unless they change in intensity and start bothering you way too much. The following are considered to be mild side effects of Viagra: insomnia, light sensitivity, diarrhea, nosebleeds, flushing, numbness, burning, or tingling, heartburn, muscle aches, or headache. You can also discuss your diet with your doctor to make sure you do not consume any products that have been reported to interfere with Viagra. Grapefruit juice, for instance, is one of such products, and you need to avoid it to make sure your treatment is successful.
